The Lifeline volunteers are the backbone of the organization. They are the women and men who engage in offering confidential and caring help over the telephone and in the offices. The volunteer acts as the bridge between the woman and the resources in the community that might be available to her. These resources are the people, individuals, and agencies who will help to meet her needs. The Lifeline volunteer is a friend standing ready to help, not standing in judgment. Lifeline volunteers are also needed in the following areas: public relations, collection and distribution of baby clothes, fund raising, office support staff, education/speakers, and booth workers. Recipient of The Governor’s “Task Force Award of Excellence” for Volunteer Organizations.

Lifeline is a pregnancy support service, organized to respond to the woman who needs help coping with her pregnancy. When the pregnancy presents problems that are medical, financial or persona; or if there is a need for moral support there can be intense pressures. The decision to have an abortion is often made in ignorance of other alternatives, or in fear of rejection. In any event each client is served uniquely and personally. Genuine care is offered whenever she calls Lifeline. |

Lifeline of Southwest PA, Inc., has a governing Board of Directors, by-laws, and specific pro-life policies.
